Another Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel replaced BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) and took over patrolling the vicinity waters near the Zambales coast, where a Chinese vessel was illegally operating.

In a report on Wednesday night, PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela said BRP Cabra continued the agency’s monitoring efforts and challenged the illegal presence of the China Coast Guard (CCG).

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is looking into the reported discovery of an underwater drone in the waters of Bohol. 

The AFP issued the statement after videos of a silver and red drone floating near a fisherman’s boat in Bohol circulated online.

In a call with his Philippine counterpart Enrique Manalo, Rubio “underscored the United States’ ironclad commitments to the Philippines under our Mutual Defense Treaty,” State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed on Thursday the release from captivity in Yemen of 17 Filipino seafarers.

It added that the agency is now working on their immediate repatriation to Manila.

The event was done in a ceremony in Malacañang.
